Music Department
Our college has been the pioneer in introducing Music as an optional subject since 1959. Our department has a highly qualified, experienced and dedicated faculty which has given their best in uplifting,
illuminating and empowering the students through sharing the knowledge of music.
Students are taken from time to time to listen to the performances of famous artists.
Students also attend seminars and workshops by various artists.
Our goal and objective, in the way of human resource development, is to make a student not only a singer,
but to make her proficient in music with knowledge and command. Students are encouraged to participate in
different kinds of cultural activities. Students here learn how to sing in one hand and the way to explain the
subject with confidence and conviction on the other. Teamwork spirit and leadership qualities are developed in
the students by organizing various types of cultural activities. Hard-working girls (students) are facilitated
from the rural as well as urban areas. Our effort is to discover their musical ability, attitude, aptitude and
connect those between thought and expression. Our department has a well-furnished laboratory with different
kinds of instruments, such a scale changer, Harmonium, Electronic tanpuras and Manual tanpuras, Tablas etc.

Career options:
Music is a very diverse industry. Nowadays, the importance of music is rapidly growing.
There are several career options. After completing the course in music, a student can work as a music teacher
in schools , colleges, and universities. Job opportunities are available in hospitals, yoga centers and
meditation centers. One can also get a job in the music industry, film production houses, TV channels,
advertising companies. Enterprising students can open their own music learning centers. Bollywood and TV
serials have opened a new era of opportunities for musicians.
